Both Group: 2764 out of 27556 (10.03%); Group I: 6319 out of 45822 (13.79%) and Group II: 9389 out of 50354 (18.65%)
CPT June,2013:

37489 out of 138746 (27.02% ) out of that Girls Pass Percantage (29.60%) and Boys (25.44%)

No.13-CA (EXAM)/CPT/December/2013: In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered
Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to
notify that the Common Proficiency Test will be held on Sunday, 15th December, 2013 in two sessions
as below, at the following centres provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear
from each centre.

[This Common Proficiency Test will be conducted as per provisions of Regulation 25 D (3) of the Chartered
Accountants Regulations, 1988 and the syllabus as published in the pages 291-293 of the Journal ‘The

The Council reserves the right to withdraw any centre at any stage without assigning any reason.
Applications for admission to Common Proficiency Test is required to be made in the relevant
prescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure, which may be obtained from the Additional
Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha
Marg, New Delhi – 110002 on payment of ` 1000/- (` 500/- towards examination fee and ` 500/- towards
cost of application form and Information brochure) per application form. The fee for candidates opting for
Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain centres will be US $160 (US $ 150 towards examination fee and US
$10 towards cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent Indian Currency. The fee for the candidates opting for Kathmandu centre are required to remit INR.1350/-(INR 850/- towards
examination fee and INR 500/- towards the cost of application form and information brochure) or its
equivalent foreign Currency. Since the cost of Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test
application form includes the examination fee, no separate fee is required to be remitted at the time of
submitting the filled in application form. The Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test
application form will also be available in the Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute and can be
obtained there from on cash payment on or from 7th October, 2013.
Common Proficiency Test application forms duly filled in may be sent so as to reach the Additional
Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not later than 28th October, 2013. Applications received after 28th
October, 2013 shall not be entertained under any circumstances. Applications duly filled in will be received
by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralised Offices of the Institute at
Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto 28th
October, 2013. Candidates residing in these cities are advised to take advantage of this facility. It may be
noted that there is no provision for acceptance of application forms after 28th October, 2013 with
late fee.

The candidates who fill up the examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from
7th October, 2013 (10.00 hrs) to 28th October, 2013 (17.30 hrs) and remit the fee online by using either
VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Card shall not be charged ` 500/- (i.e. cost of application form fee).
The aforesaid Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to students registered with the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the Common Proficiency Course on or before 1st
October, 2013 and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.

QUESTION PAPER BOOKLET LANGUAGE:

Common Proficiency Test is an objective type multiple choice questions based examination.
Candidates will be allowed to opt for Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions.

Appeal to All Members and Students of ICAI - Uttarakhand Flood Relief. - (26-06-2013)

Appeal to All members and students of ICAI

The recent landslide and floods in Uttarakhand have caused extensive devastation. A large number of people have died and thousands have been rendered homeless.

At this moment, the affected people in Uttarakhand need help to tide over the calamity that has fallen upon them, to survive and to rebuild their lives. In this scenario, ICAI has decided to stand with our distressed fellow countrymen, and actively participate in the national effort to support them at this difficult time. The employees of ICAI have offered to contribute in kind and on 26th June, 2013, we are flagging off truck load of relief material containing clothes, groceries and other necessities to Uttarakhand.

Besides the above, ICAI has opened a bank account exclusively for the purpose of collecting donations from members, students and others so that the same can be paid to Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

We hereby appeal to all members, students and others to donate generously towards this noble cause. The details of bank account are as under:

The collected amount will be given to PMNRF. All contributions towards the PMNRF are exempted from Income-tax under Section 80(G). Chairman’s Message


Let me greet each one of you on the eve of 64th CA Foundation Day on 1st July, 2013. July 1st is a day of pride for the entire CA fraternity and it gives me immense pleasure to invite all you to join together to celebrate CA day at our Branch Premises. On the same day we are launching our branch website for the benefit of members and students. Now a days the communication through website is very easy than any other mode of communication. I request the members to contribute articles to host the same in our website. We have created very good infrastructure at our branch. Our branch is the role model for all small branches in India. The next challenging task for all of us to utilize the infrastructure created at our branch to the maximum extent possible. We are successfully conducting ITT and GMCS courses at our branch for the benefit of CA students. Our next agenda is to conduct coaching classes for the benefit of CA students. In the coming days, we propose to conduct more workshop/practical oriented CPE programmes for the benefit of members at large. I request the members to participate in large numbers in our CPE/Teleconference programmes held at our branch.


I request all the members join together to celebrate CA Day Celebrations at our branch.
